The 2026 Mercedes-AMG GLA 35 brings AMG-tuned performance to the compact SUV segment in Saudi Arabia, starting from SAR 310,500 in the standard 4MATIC specification — the sole variant available in the market.
The 2.0 L turbocharged engine delivers 302 bhp through an Automatic gearbox with AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard. The combination puts 0–100 km/h away in around 5.1 seconds — fast enough to embarrass many sports cars at the same price. The cabin pairs AMG sport seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel with the twin-screen MBUX system and AMG-specific drive mode controls. With only the 4MATIC trim sold in the market, personalisation comes through factory option packages rather than a trim ladder.
Pros: 302 bhp from a compact SUV is a compelling proposition for Saudi buyers who want performance without sacrificing everyday practicality for 5 occupants. AMG's chassis tuning delivers markedly sharper handling than any standard GLA variant. Cons: running costs are higher than non-AMG alternatives — the GLA 35 is thirstier than smaller-engined rivals in its class, and AMG service intervals carry a premium. The model also sits in an awkward position between the mainstream GLA range and the considerably more powerful GLA 45 S.
No used-car pricing data was available to benchmark residual values in KSA at the time of writing. As a performance-oriented variant of a compact SUV, the GLA 35 is expected to depreciate faster than the range-topping GLA 45 S but roughly in line with other hot-hatch SUVs in the market.
Buyers cross-shopping the GLA 35 in Saudi Arabia also look at the BMW X2 M35i, Audi Q3 45 TFSI, and Range Rover Evoque. The GLA 35 is the strongest performer of the group in straight-line terms; the Evoque offers a more distinctive design and premium interior, while the Q3 45 TFSI tends to be the most fuel-efficient of the three German alternatives.
